Song Redfern Changes Hands

YWCA Australia has operated Song Redfern since 2006, a 64 room Hotel located at 179 Cleveland St, Chippendale NSW. After 15 years of operations, the property now changes hands to its new owners, Scape Student Living.

Since 2006 the Hotel contributed 100% of profits to YWCA Australia to support the organisation’s vision of a future where gender equality is a reality.

Proceeds of the sale will be directly invested in YWCA’s purpose, making young women’s leadership and women’s housing our priority for gender equity in Australia.

Song Sydney, located at 5-11 Wentworth Ave in the centre of the city, will continue to operate as normal, and we look forward to hosting future guests there.

The new ownership consortium has a vision to transform the Song Hotel, following investment in refurbishment to bring to life a new affordable offering,  re-opening in November as Hotel Hacienda. The boutique hotel will offer food and beverage, sustainable and ethically sourced amenity and the same warm welcome by some key Song Staff who have been retained to continue the legacy. Hotel Hacienda will be a place to ‘Escape The Ordinary’ at great value.
